Creative Production Services Details

Here are a few guidelines and suggestions to use when you would like to request videos or images.

Video
Four "canned" videos are available for broadcast, and a library of existing footage can also be accessed for more specific requests. These can be supplied in Beta SP, PAL or NTSC formats and also in VHS, if you wish to preview them beforehand.

Outdoor Adventure, an overview of Ontario's outdoor product, including parks, accommodation, wildlife, culture and discovery profiles (3 minutes)
There Is A Place, a look at our province, region by region (5 minutes)*
Toronto, World Within A City, a spotlight of this vibrant and cosmopolitan metropolis (3 minutes)*
Accommodating, a signature piece providing an overview of Ontario (3 minutes)*

Images
As a service to the media and the tourism industry, we offer an image distribution library of more than 10,000 images. Requests for web-quality images or medium resolution digital files (6" x8" at 300 dpi max. size) can be handled in two business days and either couriered or downloaded from the C.M.P.S. ftp site. High-resolution images can be provided in three business days.

To quickly process your request, please provide us with an estimated dimension of the final printed image as well as the required dots per inch (dpi) specification. Example: 5" x 7" at 200 dpi.

A Useful Guide
Specifications for digital images can be tricky. If you are confused, ask yourself these two questions; - "What medium will the picture end up in?" (Web, newspaper, magazine) and "how big will it appear in that medium?"

For images to be used on the Web, we can offer up to 2,000 by 3,000 pixels at 72 dpi. An image this size will easily fill the entire screen of the biggest computer monitors.

For images to be used in newspapers, we suggest images at 200 dpi.

For images to be used in high quality magazines, we offer images at 300 dpi.

For images to be used in film and video production consult the technician responsible for that production about the size and dpi of images needed from OTMPC.

Images are the property of Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership and approved for one-time usage only and cannot be used for any commercial purposes. All images must be credited to the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership.
