The Honourable Michael Chan, Minister of Tourism and Culture Minister Michael Chan has taken on leadership of the amalgamated Ministry of Tourism and Culture, from his previous positions as Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and Minister of Revenue. Minister Chan will work to establish Regional Tourism Organizations in regions across Ontario and promote Ontario's natural beauty, vibrant cities, towns, and thriving cultural attractions to visitors from all over the world. Families encouraged to get out and embrace winter Starting the week of January 11, a seasonally themed 'There's No Place Like This' commercial, featuring Hamilton-based band the Arkells, is airing on major Ontario networks and OMNI Television. New Tourism Regions in Ontario In December, 2009, the government of Ontario approved a proposal to form 13 new tourism regions across the province and new Regional Tourism Organizations. Warm welcome awaits international travellers at Pearson Airport In preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics, OTMPC partnered with the Canadian Tourism Commission, the Canada Border Services Agency and the Greater Toronto Airport Authority on the 'Welcome to Canada' program.
