Each of Destination Ontario's themed marketing campaigns encompasses a full range of programs including: digital, print, events, social media and more. We take an integrated approach to build momentum and deliver an impactful campaign that drives results. There are various ways that partners can participate in our campaigns. The Ontario Travel Information Centres (OTICs) Program is an integral part of Destination Ontario's tourism industry services. The province operates 11 Ontario Travel Information Centres: 9 year-round Centres, located in Bainsville, Barrie, Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Sarnia, Sault Ste. Marie, Tilbury, Toronto-Union and Windsor; and 2 Seasonal Centres located in Hawkesbury and Pigeon River. Most of the Centres are located at provincial borders (U.S. and Canada) with the exception of Toronto and Barrie.
Ontario’s Travel Information Centres work closely with partners across the tourism industry to promote tourism in Ontario, including regional tourism organizations, destination marketing organizations, sector associations as well as individual tourism operators. The Travel Counsellors that staff the OTICs are professionally trained to provide travellers with a vast array of services and information that will inspire travel, extend stays and increase spending in the various communities within Ontario. A key draw for tourists when they visit the OTICs are the products, services and experiences available for purchase through a customized “Point- of-Sale” system, established across the network of Centres so that they can access the array of services and products that are sold to the traveller (i.e. attraction passes and ticketing, souvenir merchandise, accommodation reservations, fishing, hunting and camping permits, etc.) .As well, these offerings allow visitors to plan and create their own personalize/customized travel itineraries.
Partnerships with the industry are created through an agreement with each provider, to enable products, and services to be offered in the Ontario Travel Information Centres across the province.
