Destination Ontario has a dedicated Northern Partnerships team that works to foster visitation to Northern Ontario, collaborating with tourism industry stakeholders in Northern Ontario (within Regional Tourism Organizations (RTOs) 12 and 13 a, b, and c). Marketing focuses on Northern Ontario regional and city experiences and Ontario’s avid markets of angling, hunting, powersports touring and world class outdoor adventures.
The Northern Office supports the Northern Tourism Marketing Committee, an Advisory Committee of Destination Ontario’s Board of Directors. This team undertakes a variety of marketing activities, from media relations to consumer trade events. The team also serves as a resource to industry on marketing the avid markets.

The Strategic Direction for Marketing Tourism in Northern Ontario 2017-2020 has been developed by Destination Ontario in collaboration with the Destination Ontario Northern Tourism Marketing Committee, Northern Regional Tourism Organizations, Tourism Northern Ontario (RTO 13) and Explorers' Edge (RTO 12). The Strategic Direction supports the development of collaborative and aligned tourism marketing programs and strategies for Northern Ontario.
